Job summary

Kroger is seeking a cashier/ checker to create an outstanding customer experience in our Washington, IN location. You will greet customers, process transactions at the checkout, and handle various tender types while adhering to company policies and safety guidelines.

Ideal candidates have basic math skills and prior experience as a cashier or bagger. We value teamwork, attentiveness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. On-site roles with growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greeting, engaging and assisting customers in-person.
• Process customer transactions at the checkout quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash, checks, card payments, and other tenders per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling, loss prevention, and restricted item guidelines (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Respond to customer questions about products sold in the store and department.
