Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support a clean, customer-first store environment. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, complete deposits, and ensure profitability while protecting assets.

You will assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy adherence, along with cashiering and inventory control to maximize customer satisfaction and store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures.
• Basic math and cash handling proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers and operate cash register.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and display according to planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through damage control, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Support store operations and deposits; act in the Store Manager’s absence when needed.
