Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Savannah, GA to help run daily store operations and maximize profitability while maintaining excellent customer service. You will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and assist with deposits and safety compliance.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; prior retail supervisory experience is preferred.

• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, restocking and building displays per planograms.
• Maintain inventory by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation according to standards.
• Ensure cashier accuracy, cash control procedures, and deposits; sign refunds/overrides and count tills.
• Assist in store leadership in Store Manager's absence.
