Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to serve as the customer’s first point of contact, stock and set up merchandise, and support merchandising and cleanliness across the store.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, assisting customers, operating the cash register, and assisting with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Basic mathematical skills and IBM cash register proficiency.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves; restock as needed.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register, bag merchandise, collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Greet customers and maintain store cleanliness.
