Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a team member to act as the primary customer contact, stock shelves, and maintain plan-o-grams to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, building displays, stocking merchandise, assisting customers, operating the cash register, and supporting store housekeeping. High school diploma preferred and safety awareness required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock shelves or move merchandise to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Keep the front end clean and assist with sidewalk displays.
