Qualifications

• Minimum: ability to handle stressful situations
• Minimum: knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)
• Minimum: effective communication skills
• Desired: any retail experience
• Desired: second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
• Desired: promote trust and respect among associates
• Desired: create welcoming, helpful environment for customers
• Desired: gain knowledge of products and make recommendations
• Desired: inform customers of grocery specials
• Desired: ensure product freshness and proper labeling and stocking

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service and assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals
• Maintain a safe, clean environment to encourage customers to return
• Answer questions about products and services within the department and store
• Adhere to all safety procedures and food safety regulations
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and notify management of discrepancies
