Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Grocery Clerk/Cashier to deliver outstanding service at the checkout and in-store. You will process customer transactions accurately, handle various tender types, restock and stock merchandise, and maintain clean, safe aisles while promoting a friendly shopping experience.

The role requires basic math, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math.
• Ability to fully complete the cashier training program.
• Ability to memorize produce items and sale items.
• Effective communication and reading skills.
• Must be 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Rotate merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality.
• Promote trust and respect among team members.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions.
• Greet, engage and assist customers.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Order, label, stock and inventory merchandise.
• Report product ordering, shipping & pricing discrepancies to store management.
• Adhere to cash-handling limits and loss-prevention guidelines.
• Follow food safety regulations and maintain temperatures and logs.
• Inspect equipment and identify repair needs.
• Notify management of accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Follow local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
