Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Grocery Clerk to deliver an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and a safe, clean environment.

You will assist the department manager in meeting sales goals, monitor quality standards, stock and label merchandise, and respond to customer questions about products. This role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.

Knowledge of basic math and a customer-first attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
Inform customers of food specials and recommend items to ensure customers get what they need.
Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable products they have ordered.
Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs.
Respond to customer questions about products and offer knowledgeable suggestions.
Create a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and appreciated.
