Job summary

Kroger is hiring a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger at our South Jordan store to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean shopping environment. You will bag groceries, assist customers with loading, and uphold our core values of respect, integrity and safety.

The role emphasizes fast-paced teamwork, accuracy in bagging, basic shelf conditioning, price checks for cashiers, and following food safety guidelines while helping customers find products and enjoy a welcoming store

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Strive for at least five items in the bag while ensuring contents are not damaged.
• Follow best practices for bagging items in various bag types (reusable/plastic/paper).
• Assist in removing customer merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help customers with loading bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills, collect and pick up trash inside store and parking lot.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department of repairs.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
