Job summary

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging and assisting customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and loyalty offers.
• Adhere to cash shortage/overage limits and loss-prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; observe food safety rules.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
