Job summary

Kroger is hiring for a cashier/courte sy clerk role at our Southfield, MI location. You will greet customers, assist at the checkout, and process transactions accurately while applying store policies and promotions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greeting, engaging and assisting customers at the check lane
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures
• Adhere to company policy on cash shortages/overages and loss prevention
• Follow guidelines for restricted items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
• Stay current with ads and promotions including seasonal ones
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Support safety programs and identify unsafe conditions, report to management
• Inspect equipment and notify appropriate department/store manager of repairs
• Create a welcoming environment and assist customers with product questions
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
• Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments
• Manage conflict in a constructive manner
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve customer/business issues
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
• Perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
