Job summary

Rural King in Ohio is hiring a Cashier to provide friendly, accurate, and efficient service while helping create a positive customer experience. You will process transactions, assist shoppers, promote store programs, and maintain a clean, organized front end.

You’ll work with teammates to greet customers, handle cash and card payments, and stay informed about loyalty offerings such as the RK Loyalty Program and RK Plus Protection Plan.

Qualifications

• Customer service or retail experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable using computers, POS systems, and other technology.
• Ability to accurately handle cash and process transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Process cash, credit, debit, and other transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Follow company procedures for cash handling, returns, exchanges, layaways, and price disputes.
• Answer customer questions and provide basic product information.
• Educate customers about Rural King Loyalty Program and RK Plus Protection Plan.
• Respond to store calls using professional phone etiquette.
• Coordinate with loaders and associates to promptly address customer needs.
• Reconcile registers, complete required paperwork, and maintain accurate records.
• Deactivate EAS devices and spider wraps as needed.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to help prevent loss and reduce shrink.
• Keep checkout areas clean and stocked; restock as needed.
• Participate in cross-training and support other store departments.
• Use POS systems, computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
