Job summary

Meijer is seeking a friendly cashier to support customers with purchases in a fast-paced retail environment. You will handle the cash register, process payments, and provide accurate, courteous service to every guest.

Ideal candidates are 18+, eager to learn, and comfortable using store technology. Prior retail experience is a plus, but not required; strong communication and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Strong listening and communications skills, face-to-face and virtually.
• Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology.
• Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary.
• Desire to work with customers.
• Previous retail or customer experience preferred but not required.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Friendly outgoing attitude.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks.
• Create ‘WOW’ moments that have a positive and lasting impact on customers.
• Complete transactions and handle money in all forms with accuracy at POS.
• Use good eye contact and body language with a friendly, outgoing attitude.
• Be prepared to handle customer questions adequately and appropriately.
• Build trustful relationships with customers to encourage return visits.
