Job summary

Meijer is seeking a friendly Cashier to provide fast, accurate checkout experiences and exemplary customer service in Our store. You will learn Meijer programs, promotions, and systems to ensure seamless transactions that leave customers with a positive impression.

Ideal candidates are 18+, enjoy working with people, and can learn new technologies. Prior retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required; physical tasks like standing and lifting are expected in this role.

Qualifications

• You’re 18 years of age or older.
• You enjoy working with people and providing great service
• You're comfortable learning and using technology
• You listen well, communicate clearly, and stay organized
• You're dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to help
• Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required
• You have the ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods

• Become knowledgeable on Meijer programs and promotions to best assist customers
• Create welcoming, memorable checkout experiences that leave a lasting impression
• Use Meijer systems to complete transactions efficiently and accurately
• Handle cash and payments responsibly, with attention to detail
• Communicate clearly and confidently, using friendly eye contact and positive body language
• Answer customer questions and help resolve concerns with care
• Build trust and connection that encourages customers to return
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
