Job summary

Chalk is hiring a software engineer to build bespoke technical solutions and partner with ML teams on Chalk’s proprietary infrastructure. You will work with Chalk customers to build feature pipelines for healthcare, finance, and recommendation systems, gathering requirements and engineering pipelines for use-cases like cancer detection and fraud prevention.

This is an early employee role in a high-growth startup, in-person in New York.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Write code to implement Chalk technology for Chalk customers and prospects.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Sales teams.
• Serve as primary technical point of contact pre‑ and post‑sales during onboarding and support.
• Recommend new products as business needs evolve.
• Assist in interviewing and growing the Engineering team.
