Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an attentive Store Associate to act as the primary customer contact, stock and merchandize shelves, maintain plan-o-grams, and assist with checkout operations. Responsibilities include unloading trucks, building displays, rotating stock, helping customers locate items, and handling cash transactions accurately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise on shelves or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate/face items.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register, bag purchases, and provide correct change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Clean front end of store and maintain aisles; greet customers.
