Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a Customer Experience Manager to elevate service across Front-End teams, train and coach staff, and partner with the Store Director to drive profitability and customer satisfaction.

You’ll manage scheduling, cash handling, compliance, safety, and conduct audits to improve performance. This is a full-time role based in Duarte, CA, offering benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of supervisory or training experience in retail or supermarket front-end operations.
• Strong coaching and team-building abilities.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of front-end operations, compliance and safety standards.
• Ability to pass a criminal and credit check.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Front-End Leads and Booth Administrators to build high-performing teams.
• Oversee cashier scheduling, coverage, and operations for efficiency.
• Ensure cash handling accuracy and transaction compliance.
• Maintain adherence to OSHA, Health Department, ABC, WIC, SNAP, LEAD testing, etc.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
• Conduct audits and review metrics to improve service and compliance.
• Deliver training programs for Front-End and Booth staff.
• Collaborate with Store Director, HR, and leadership to drive initiatives.
• Perform cashier or front-end duties during peak periods.
• Complete reports and communications accurately and on time.

About the Role

The Customer Experience Manager leads and elevates customer service standards across all Front-End teams, including Cashiers, Courtesy Clerks, Janitors, Booth, and Sabores Demonstrators. This role ensures positive, efficient, and welcoming customer interactions by training, coaching, and developing a service-focused team. The Customer Experience Manager also oversees operational excellence, compliance, and safety, serving as a key partner to the Store Director in driving service, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

• Smile, greet, and model Vallarta’s Nuestra CASA pledge of extraordinary customer service.
• Lead, coach, and mentor Front-End Leads and Booth Administrators to build high-performing, customer-focused teams.
• Manage cashier scheduling, coverage, and operations to ensure efficiency.
• Oversee cash handling accuracy, transaction compliance, and drawer balancing.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and company requirements (OSHA, Health Department, ABC, WIC, SNAP, LEAD testing, etc.).
• Resolve customer concerns with professionalism and urgency.
• Conduct audits and review metrics to implement service and compliance improvements.
• Oversee and deliver training programs for Front-End and Booth staff.
• Support merchandising by ensuring Sabores Demonstrators follow company strategies.
• Collaborate with Store Director, HR, and corporate leaders to drive company initiatives.
• Perform cashier or front-end duties during peak periods.
• Complete reports and communications accurately and on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk constantly (6–8 hours/day).
• Frequently bend neck/waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.
• Frequent hand use for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
• Lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
• Heaviest item required to carry: 27 lbs. (one case of water), up to 3 feet.
• No driving, machinery use, uneven ground, or exposure to dust, fumes, or extreme conditions required.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 1 year of supervisory or training experience in retail or supermarket front-end operations.
• Proven ability to coach, train, and inspire high-performing teams.
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of front-end operations, compliance, and safety standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to pass a criminal and credit check.
• Willingness to transfer to other store locations as needed.
• Fast-paced retail setting with direct customer interaction.
• Exposure to perishable products and changing conditions.
• Collaborative, team-oriented workplace.
• Must work flexible schedule: afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
