Job summary

Qualifications

• Cashier experience preferred.
• Customer service experience required or desired.
• Second language ability is a plus.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
• Strong communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products and store programs.
• Know products across departments to assist customers and suggest options.
• Report pricing or scanning discrepancies to a manager.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Handle returns and exchanges in line with store policies and procedures.
• Inform customers about new programs and promotions.
• Follow policies for stamps, money orders, gift certificates, lottery, and Western Union transfers.
• Manage funds, coupons, and tenders per company policy.
• Stock and inventory merchandise, maintaining inventory integrity.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with stocking and displays.
• Label and organize department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
