Job summary

IKEA USA is seeking a Customer Coordinator in Maryland to support the in-store customer experience team. You will oversee day-to-day operations, handle opening/closing duties, and ensure accurate information reaches customers throughout their journey.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, product knowledge, and a service mindset to boost sales and customer satisfaction while embracing IKEA's inclusive culture.

Qualifications

  • Three years of related experience.
  • One year of experience in a customer service environment.
  • Physical Demands: Lifting, pushing/pulling, sliding/transferring and carrying up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and opening/closing duties for the unit.
  • Troubleshoot and apply corrective actions such as emergency and incident response, authorization, access.
  • Enhance the shopping journey by collaborating with functions to increase co-worker competence and knowledge.
  • Ensure customers receive consistent information throughout their shopping journey.
  • Record information in the relevant systems to improve the customer's future shopping experience.
  • Enhance customer relationships to boost sales and ensure sustained profitability by understanding IKEA's product range and services.
  • Offer alternative solutions that meet the needs of individual customers.
  • Forge a team mindset centered around first time right for every customer, ensuring a positive customer journey.
  • Take part in additional department responsibilities to secure the daily operation for co-workers and customers.
  • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Customer Coordinator, supporting the in-store customer experience team, you will:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations that are assigned by the Team Leader, including opening and/or closing duties for the unit which also include key and alarm code responsibilities.
  • Troubleshoot and apply appropriate corrective actions such as emergency and incident response, authorization, access, etc.
  • Enhance the shopping journey of our visitors to IKEA by collaborating with all functions to increase co-worker competence and knowledge.
  • Ensure customers receive consistent information throughout their shopping journey.
  • Record information in the relevant systems to improve the customer's future shopping experience.
  • Enhance customer relationships to boost sales and ensure sustained profitability by understanding IKEA's product range and services.
  • When needed, offer alternative solutions that meet the needs of individual customers.
