Job summary

Kinney is seeking a reliable cashier to ring up customer purchases, handle cash and card transactions, and provide excellent service at the checkout area. You will replenish stock, assist customers with large purchases, and help maintain a clean, organized store environment.

The role involves greeting customers by phone, supporting inventory tasks, and following loss prevention policies. Dependability and punctuality are essential.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 0-1 years previous experience in related position.

Responsibilities

• Accurately scan and ring out all customer purchases using POS register including cash, check and charge transactions.
• Accurately provide change to customers.
• Follow proper procedure for closing out of register at end of shift.
• Request additional help as needed to maintain appropriate customer service levels.
• Assist customers with large purchases as needed (carry purchases out to their cars).
• Replenish inventory from in-store stock and incoming orders.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a professional and clean checkout area.
• Assist in maintaining store cleanliness including restrooms, break rooms, backrooms, and entryways.
• Replenish register supplies as needed.
• Answer the phone using appropriate greeting and maintain customer service levels.
• Assist in inventory management, price marking and merchandising of the checkout area and surrounding departments.
• React to potential shoplifters following company policy.
• Assist in merchandising standards and product presentation.
• Assist in ordering replacement product from the appropriate supplier.
• Identify and return outdated or overstocked merchandise to the proper source.
• Package and prepare items for home/business delivery.
• Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
