Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Farragut, TN is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding service and maintain a safe, clean environment.

You will greet customers, process transactions accurately, and help them find products while upholding company values. Responsibilities include operating the POS system, handling various payment methods, following loss prevention policies, and adhering to food safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, engage and assist them at the check lane.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle multiple tenders (Cash, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Create an welcoming environment and assist customers with questions.
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Handle conflicts professionally and with integrity.
• Support guests including minors and seniors when needed.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
