Job summary

Kroger in Shoreline, WA is seeking a courteous cashier/checker to deliver outstanding customer service at the register. You will greet customers, process transactions, and help with questions about products while maintaining accuracy and efficiency at the lane.

Responsibilities include following cash handling policies, adhering to safety guidelines, and staying informed about weekly ads and promotions. Part-time roles available with opportunities for growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand and operate the POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow coupon, postage and gift card policies.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; adhere to food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to help customers feel welcome.
