Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Michigan invites friendly, reliable individuals to join our cashier team. You’ll deliver efficient service at the checkout, learning Meijer programs and promotions to assist customers and ensure accurate transactions.

You’ll create welcoming experiences, handle cash accurately, use POS systems, and communicate clearly with customers. Prior retail experience helps, but we hire by attitude and train the rest.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Enjoy helping people and providing great service.
• Comfortable learning and using technology.
• Listen well, communicate clearly, and stay organized.
• Dependable, detail‑oriented, and eager to help.
• Retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Be the last touchpoint a customer has before leaving the store.
• Become knowledgeable on Meijer programs and promotions to assist customers.
• Create welcoming checkout experiences and complete transactions accurately.
• Handle cash and payments with attention to detail.
• Communicate clearly with customers using friendly eye contact and body language.
• Answer questions and help resolve concerns with care.
• Build trust and encourage repeat visits, and support other tasks as needed.
