Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate in Pittsburgh to act as the main point of contact for customers and to support plan-o-gram execution and stock management. You will help ensure shelves are stocked, displays are updated, and the checkout process runs smoothly for a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

You will greet customers, locate merchandise, and maintain store cleanliness while protecting company assets. Prior retail experience with basic math and cash handling is helpful.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively with customers and teammates.
• Understanding and following safety practices in a retail environment.
• Ability to read and implement plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Strong numerical skills for quick calculations.
• Experience with IBM cash registers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise in the store.
• Receive, unpack, and store merchandise or move to sales floor.
• Build and rotate merchandise displays; face stock on shelves.
• Assist customers in locating items and answering questions.
• Operate cash register, bag items, and handle payments.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners when needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness and assist with front-end setup.
