Location: Home-based with travel within the Midwest or Eastern US regions.

Position Overview:

This role provides technical support to our North American Food Division customers, ensuring their equipment and can filling processes operate effectively. The role involves troubleshooting, equipment commissioning, repairs, and customer training related to steel and aluminum can filling equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure customers can properly seal food cans by setting up and diagnosing seaming equipment to achieve sound double seams.
  • Respond promptly to customer requests for assistance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Conduct proactive visits for seam analysis, equipment commissioning, repairs, and inspections.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding field activities and competitor activity.
  • Provide training to customer personnel on equipment and technology improvements.
  • Complete reports and document activities accurately and timely.

Typical tasks include:

  • Seam teardown and evaluation
  • Seamer setup, adjustments, troubleshooting, and repairs
  • Equipment installation, removal, and rebuilds
  • Assisting with product trials, testing, and quality issues
  • Gathering and reporting on tooling, equipment, and process information

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma with technical training
  • 5-10 years manufacturing or machine maintenance experience
  • Experience with can closing equipment preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Mechanical aptitude with technical training in machinery repair and maintenance
  • Ability to travel up to 70-80%, including driving and flying
  • Effective time management and multi-project handling skills
