Cognitioworld in Cookeville, TN is seeking a Mechanical Engineering co-op student to contribute to filtration and separation system projects. You will work on CAD modeling, process changes, and validation planning, supporting lab equipment development and test methods.

This paid, 40-hour-per-week onsite role offers hands-on prototyping, data collection, troubleshooting, and engineering documentation. Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a 2.5 GPA

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA preferred.
• Experience or willingness to learn CAD software, FEA concepts, GD&T, and hands‑on prototyping or design/build processes.
• Methodical, data‑driven approach to troubleshooting with adherence to HSE and technical standards.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; commitment to self‑development.
• Ability to complete 40 hours per week, 100% onsite in Cookeville, TN.

Responsabilidades

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Assist with 3D CAD modeling, process engineering changes, and support validation/verification planning for filtration and separation systems.
• Design test fixtures, assist with prototype fabrication, collect test data, and support development of new laboratory equipment, procedures, and test methods.
• Perform root cause analysis, product development risk assessments, failure analysis, and systematic technical troubleshooting.
• Assist with supplier and component sourcing, write technical reports, and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Currently enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA preferred.
• Experience or willingness to learn CAD software, finite element analysis (FEA) concepts, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and hands‑on prototyping or design/build processes.
• Methodical, data‑driven approach to troubleshooting with strict adherence to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and technical standards.

Compensation & Benefits

• Co‑op role duration: minimum 6 months, 9‑12 months highly preferred.
