Job summary

Google Cloud Platform team seeks a Platform Customer Engineer to partner with Sales, deliver cross-pillar cloud solutions, and lead technical engagements with customers including executives. You will architect solutions, run demos, and drive technical wins while coordinating with delivery teams.

You will present to technical and business leaders, support pricing activities, and help define delivery plans. The role emphasizes cloud native architecture, virtualization, and data analytics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
  • Experience engaging with, or presenting to, technical stakeholders or executive leaders.
  • Experience in programming languages, debugging, systems design, prototyping, demos, or customer workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the technical account plan and strategy, participating in planning and supporting targeted sales motions.
  • Combine sales, programming, and solutions architecture expertise to show value across the portfolio through demos, pilots and workshops.
  • Architect cross-pillar solutions, drive technical wins, and define initial delivery plans for customers; continue to lead the technical engagement in the solution phase.
  • Facilitate post-sales transition by supporting pricing activities and transitioning the final delivery plan to implementation teams.
  • Maintain awareness of progress against the delivery plan, provide support to cross-functional teams during ramp, delivery, migration or implementation phases.

Job description

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience selling technical solutions in one or more of the following: infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data management, data analytics, cloud AI, networking, migrations, security.
  • Experience migrating applications and services to cloud platforms.
  • Experience with machine learning model development and deployment, as well as with frameworks for deep learning (e.g., TensorFlow, Jax, Ray, etc.) and using machine learning APIs.
  • Experience with platform engineering (e.g., Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, image management, or repository management), virtual machine concepts, or container concepts.
  • Experience with developing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, and PaaS.

As a Platform Customer Engineer (CE), you will partner with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will troubleshoot technical questions and roadblocks, engage in proofs of concepts and demos, and use your expertise to architect cross-pillar cloud solutions that solve these business issues. You will drive the technical win and define the delivery and consumption plans. You will use your presentation skills to engage with technical and business leaders, and persuasively present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will have excellent technical, communication and organizational skills.
You will focus on identifying, pursuing, and winning new business workloads and driving pen testing within existing ones. You will have a breadth of technical expertise, spanning infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data analytics and more.
