Job summary

Google Cloud seeks a Customer Engineer to drive technical engagements, translate customer needs into scalable cloud architectures, and collaborate with sales and engineering to deliver compelling proofs of concept.

You will present to technical and executive stakeholders, influence product direction, and grow strategic relationships across a diverse set of industries. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of cloud native architecture experience in customer-facing or advisory roles.
  • Experience with cloud engineering, on‑premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization.

You will use your expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and persuasively present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will have excellent technical, communication and organizational skills.

In this role, you will focus on a range of customer opportunities as a technical generalist, spanning infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data analytics and more. You will have a passion for building new relationships, with experience in prospecting and building out greenfield territories. US: $152000 - $221000 (USD) + 42.86% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Share in-depth Google Cloud expertise to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
  • Work directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
  • Lead prospecting and acquisition of net new logos, creating and building customer relationships from scratch, and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor on their long-term technology and business decisions.
