Job summary

Google Cloud is hiring a Customer Engineer II in Atlanta to partner with technical sales teams, demonstrate Google Cloud capabilities, and craft innovative cloud solutions addressing customer business issues. You will engage in proof-of-concepts and troubleshoot roadblocks that arise.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify business opportunities, understand objections, and resolve technical blockers.
  • Share in-depth Google Cloud expertise to support customer relationships, including briefings and POC work.
  • Work directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer environments.
  • Recommend integration strategies and architectures to implement complete solutions on Google Cloud.
  • Lead prospecting and acquisition of new logos, building relationships from scratch as a trusted advisor.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in developing cloud-native architectures for data warehousing, data lakes, real-time event processing, streaming, data migrations, data visualization tools, and ensuring data governance.
  • Experience with security concepts such as encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and pen testing.
  • Experience prospecting, building, and maintaining customer relationships from scratch, with a focus on developing Greenfield territories.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies and concepts, including analytics warehousing, data processing, data transformation, data governance, ETL/ELT, SQL, NoSQL, and performance or scalability optimizations.

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical sales teams to help differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will engage in proof-of-concepts and troubleshoot any technical questions or roadblocks that arise. You will connect with customers to understand their business and technical needs, presenting practical and effective solutions on Google Cloud. You will take on a variety of customer opportunities as a technical generalist, focusing on areas like infrastructure modernization, application modernization, and data analytics. You will build new relationships in prospecting and expanding greenfield territories. You'll be part of a team of Googlers, where we support equal opportunities for success.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000-$183,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Share in-depth Google Cloud expertise to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and collaborating directly with product management to prioritize solutions that drive customer adoption of Google Cloud.
  • Work directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
  • Lead prospecting and acquisition of new logos, creating and building customer relationships from scratch, and establishing as a trusted advisor on their long-term technology and business decisions.
