Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to serve as the primary customer contact, assist in maintaining plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and support store operations. You will help maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, displaying, greeting customers, and operating the cash register accurately in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop store floors; clean restrooms and stockrooms.
• Greet customers and comply with policies and procedures.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total purchases; bag merchandise.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays.
