Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Sales Associate to serve customers, handle checkout, stock and display merchandise, and maintain store cleanliness. The role supports the Store Manager with daily tasks to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while safeguarding assets.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and familiarity with basic cash handling. This is a physically active, fast-paced retail position in a neighborhood store.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register and perform basic cash handling.
• Ability to read and follow plan‑ogram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Basic mathematical skills for checkout and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment from customers and make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as necessary.
• Follow company merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
