Job summary

Dollar General in Stanhope, New Jersey is seeking a Sales Associate to serve as the primary point of contact for customers, assist with locating and purchasing merchandise, operate the cash register, and help maintain a clean, inviting store.

You will stock and rotate merchandise, ring up sales accurately, follow planograms, and contribute to a fast-paced team that aims to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while safeguarding company assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandising guidance.
• Basic cash handling procedures knowledge.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment and make change.
• Follow company merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
