Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the frontline contact for customers, stocking merchandise, and maintaining plan-o-grams to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, assist shoppers, and operate the cash register while following policies and protecting assets.

The role requires teamwork, basic math skills, and knowledge of cash handling. This is an on-site position at our Texas location with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Follow company processes to receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise and rotate/face on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
• Clean front end and help set up sidewalk displays.
