After a period of in-person training and time working onsite with your team, this role has the option to work remotely (in WI only at this time). In general, this timeframe tends to be 3-4 months. Note that there will be situations when someone may choose or be asked to return onsite which would be coordinated and scheduled in advance.

As a Customer Development Manager, you'll serve as a consultative resource and trusted advisor for existing and prospective customers whose needs extend beyond a transactional order. This position conducts discovery conversations to understand customer business objectives, evaluates opportunities for alignment with 4imprint's capabilities, identifies the appropriate level of support, and connects customers with the internal teams and resources best equipped to meet their needs. The role develops and strengthens relationships with key stakeholders, maintains assigned strategic accounts, identifies opportunities for growth and collaboration, supports partnership marketing initiatives, and represents 4imprint at customer meetings, conferences, events, and trade shows. Success in this position requires strong relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, business acumen, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver a remarkable customer experience.

Here’s what a typical day might look like. (These are the essential functions of the job). Other duties may be assigned.

  • Demonstrate the eight core principles that guide every 4imprint teammate on a daily basis: Honesty, Curiosity, Collaboration, Flexibility, Accountability, Empathy, Positive Attitude, Humility.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers with complex multi-department needs beyond a standard order. Conduct discovery discussions to understand customer business objectives, organizational priorities, key stakeholders, and decision-making processes while evaluating opportunities for alignment with our capabilities and strategy.
  • Manage assigned accounts by developing relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, navigating organizations with multiple departments, locations, and business units, maintaining account plans, conducting business reviews, monitoring engagement and purchasing trends, and identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships and expand utilizations of 4imprint solutions.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop and coordinate appropriate support that aligns with customer goals and reinforce the value of the 4imprint service model.
  • Attend and represent 4imprint at customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and strategic events. Support the trade show management team with event preparation, onsite customer engagement, follow-up and coordination of event-related needs while strengthening customer relationships and identifying opportunities for future growth and collaboration. Travel will be required.
  • Coordinate with internal partners to address customer questions and service needs, facilitate customer meetings, business reviews, strategic planning sessions, and executive-level customer discussions, prepare customer-facing materials and presentations, and document customer interactions, opportunities, commitments, and next steps to support a consistent customer experience.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and serve as a connector between customers and internal teams, influencing outcomes and coordinating effort without direct authority, while tracking inquiry activity, opportunity status, referrals, and account developments; provide updates and insights to leadership as requested.
  • Maintain awareness of 4imprint resources, services, customer programs and internal expertise while gathering customer feedback and recommending practical improvements to qualification, routing, handoff, account planning and customer-support processes.
  • Contribute to strategic account retention, growth and customer development objectives through relationship management, opportunity identification and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Willing and able to work extended hours as needed to meet business demands. Travel will be required.

Required education/experience:

  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in business preferred.
    • Equivalent experience in account management, customer development or business development may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 or more years of experience in customer-facing account management, business development role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex customer relationships involving multiple stakeholders and coordinating work across multiple internal teams.
  • Experience leading customer discovery conversations and translating customer needs into actionable recommendations or solutions.
  • Experience presenting information, facilitating customer discussions, conducting business reviews, or delivering recommendations.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to assess customer opportunities and recommend appropriate service model, resources, and solutions.
  • Proven communication, interpersonal, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Strong computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Broad knowledge of 4imprint’s products, services, customer support models, internal resources and capabilities preferred.
  • Experience supporting strategic, national, licensing, partnership initiatives or promotional campaigns preferred.
