Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the point of contact for customers and help maintain plan-of-grams and programs. You will stock shelves, build displays, assist customers, and operate the register. The role requires safety awareness and basic cash handling skills, in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, greeting customers, and keeping the store clean. Relocation assistance is not provided. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in the stock room or on the sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate/face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Keep store clean and organized, including front end and sidewalks when needed.
