Job summary

Dollar General is hiring for a store associate role in our retail locations. You will be the point of contact for customers, help set up displays, stock and rotate products, and assist with checkout and basic cash handling.

Responsibilities include unloading shipments, stocking, greeting customers, and using handheld scanners for orders. The role requires physical activity and adherence to store policies.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes; stock shelves or move merchandise to sales floor.
• Build and stock merchandise displays.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases and bag items.
• Collect payment and give change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Keep front end clean and help with sidewalk displays as needed.
