Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Retail Associate to act as the primary point of contact for customers, help set up plan-o-grams, and ensure shelves are stocked and clean. You will operate the register, assist with inventory, and support daily store operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

The role involves unloading trucks, building displays, greeting customers, and following company policies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop store floors; clean restroom and stockroom.
• Greet customers and comply with company policies.
• Operate cash register to itemize and total purchases; bag merchandise and collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
