Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the point of contact for customers, assist with plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and help maximize profitability and teamwork. You will unload trucks, build Displays, stock, greet customers, and operate the cash register to complete sales.

Ideal candidates have interpersonal skills, basic cash handling, plan-o-gram understanding, and the ability to lift and move merchandise in a fast-paced retail environment. High school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point of contact for customers and assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams.
• Stock merchandise adequately and build displays; rotate and face items on shelves.
• Unload trucks and restock recovered merchandise; assist customers in locating products.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, bag items, and handle payments.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners when needed.
• Keep store clean, greet customers, and comply with company policies.
