Job summary

Dollar General is hiring for a customer service and store operations role in a fast-paced environment. You will act as the point of contact for customers, assist in setting plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and help maximize profitability while protecting assets.

Key duties include unloading trucks, building displays, stocking, assisting customers, operating the cash register, and following company policies. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock, rotate and face merchandise.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers locating merchandise.
• Bail cardboard; clean store areas.
• Follow company policies.
• Greet customers.
• Operate cash register and bag items.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using scanners.
• Clean front end and set up sidewalk displays.
