Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Six months cashier experience for the Customer Service Desk.
• Must be at least 18 (19 in some states) to sell tobacco.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of store policies and procedures.
• Related retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions including open/close register and ring sales.
• Handle money drops and produce produce codes knowledge.
• Complete file maintenance for price discrepancies.
• Maintain checkstand area cleanliness.
• Answer telephones and comply with corporate policies.
• Promote and follow company initiatives.
• Verify Electronic Article Surveillance tags at checkout and remove tags as needed.
• Respond to EAS pedestal activations as necessary.
• Maintain all store accounting functions and prepare bank deposits.
• Open and close the Customer Service Desk; process refunds, exchanges, money orders, transfers, and gift cards.
• Provide lottery service (where permitted) and issue licenses where applicable.
• Handle faxes, lost and found, vendor reports; work cooperatively under pressure.
• Manage conflicts professionally and maintain honesty with customers and business data.
• Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
