Role purpose and day-to-day

This role is designed for people who have strong empathy and communication skills. Days are spent interacting with people over the phone to help them with questions about healthcare benefits, 401k savings and retirement plans, leaves of absence and payroll. This position suits individuals who can master complex information quickly, are passionate about helping others, and enjoy solving problems.

Responsibilities
  • Handle a high volume of inbound calls from our clients' employees to answer questions, provide education, and resolve complex HR and financial issues related to health care benefits, 401k savings and retirement plans, leaves of absence, payroll, etc.
  • Process transactions such as health enrollments, tax and direct deposit updates, 401k withdrawals or contributions, and retirement elections; may include additional research and ongoing casework.
  • Initiate outbound calls to update customers on pending cases or other topics.
  • Navigate multiple systems and tools to provide answers and support during live interactions.
  • Communicate with third parties to research and assist customers with updates or inquiries.
Required Experience
  • At least 4 years of customer service experience, or a combination of education and experience:
    • High School diploma and 4 years of customer service experience, OR
    • Associate's degree and 2 years of customer service experience, OR
    • Bachelor's Degree
  • A self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a passion to provide high-level customer care and satisfaction.
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable and dependable in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to receive and apply constructive feedback immediately.
  • Ability to multi-task using several Windows applications while assisting a customer on the phone.
  • Flexibility to work a specified shift and extended hours as necessary.
  • Internet Connectivity/Remote Position: For 100% remote roles, must have high-speed broadband with minimum speeds of 20 Mbps upload/download and hardware to be hardwired to company-issued computer. Test speeds at speedtest.net from your personal computer.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in Health Care, Human Resources Services or Financial Services.

Salary

Salary Pay Range

Minimum: 34,000.00 USD

Maximum: 38,000.00 USD

Pay Transparency: Alight considers a variety of factors in determining compensation, including experience, education, certifications, market data, internal equity, and geography.
