Position Overview

The Associate Director, Product Management, will lead a team of business analysts/product managers in Customer Care. They will collaborate with several cross-functional teams to execute a unified Product strategy, including but not limited to, product portfolio expansion, application development, and business process optimization in an agile environment. This role will communicate cross-functionally at all levels of our business. The individual will be responsible for the continued successful support of Product teams across Exact Sciences, focusing on two or more product areas and/or complex features within a larger product line.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Ensure the team's work aligns with department objectives and is informed by strategic direction from leadership.
  2. Define and own the product roadmap for two or more product sub-pillars and manage a group of product managers or other leaders, leading the product delivery and execution.
  3. Develop and communicate the product vision and strategy to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  4. Lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment around product goals and initiatives.
  5. Mentor junior product managers by providing insight, recommendations, and guidance on product management best practices.
  6. Evaluate market trends and competition to identify new product opportunities and innovations.
  7. Align the product management team to execute on a unified product strategy.
  8. Execute product strategy by receiving objectives from leadership and determining resource utilization to meet objectives and timelines.
  9. Maintain strong relationships and transparency with key stakeholders across multiple functions and levels.
  10. Represent Product management in cross-functional initiatives and work across the product management function to align on execution.
  11. Work on complex matters requiring advanced knowledge of departmental objectives and industry/technical expertise.
  12. Collaborate with subject matter experts and IT partners to design processes and systems that add business capabilities, improve efficiencies, and support scalability.
  13. Support and guide your team, including delegating tasks, assessing performance, and providing feedback and training opportunities.
  14. Demonstrate leadership qualities such as attracting and retaining talent, fostering a high-performance culture, leading with integrity, humility, accountability, and courage, and setting a clear vision.
  15. Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  16. Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  17. Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Marketing, Business, Finance, or related field; or High School Diploma/General Education Diploma with 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 6+ years of experience leading or managing people and/or project teams.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in product management.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with service design and operations.
  • Understanding of user experience and human-centered design.

Salary Range: $175,000 - $278,000 annually, based in Redwood City, CA. Compensation includes bonus eligibility and potential stock options.
