Job description

Job Title: Customer Advocate I

Join us at Health Care Service Corporation as a Customer Advocate I. This entry-level, full-time role involves working in a call center environment to assist members and physicians by responding to inquiries via phone and written communication. The position requires approximately 85% of the scheduled time on the phone, providing prompt, accurate, and objective support.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to member and physician inquiries via phone and written correspondence.
  • Conduct research to resolve issues.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 months of customer service or office environment experience.
  • Data entry and typing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and organizational skills with the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Ability to spend approximately 90% of scheduled time on the phone and sit for long periods with scheduled breaks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 9 months or more of customer service experience.
  • Experience with various lines of business such as CDHP, Medicare, Wellness, and Disease Management.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.
  • Applicants able to meet testing criteria are preferred.
Compensation

$17.75 - $27.83 per hour, depending on skills, experience, and location.
