Our Build and Install Specialist must be able to successfully transform our unique design concepts into custom displays and physical created pieces for a variety of environments, including high-end exhibits, retail spaces, trade shows, museums, and product prototypes. Primary Responsibilities
- Build and install custom high-end exhibits, custom displays and other environmental components and graphics.
- Cut, trim, file, bend images and or materials using hand-held razors, straight edges, and power tools.
- Sand, finish, and clean material prior to painting.
- Mount images/graphics and other display components to various substrates.
- Apply paint to surfaces using various tools: artistic fine detail brushes to spray gun.
- Perform light maintenance duties within all WB buildings.
- Regularly clean and maintain equipment/tools, as well as work area to ensure a safe work environment.
- Remove, dispose and store materials properly.
- Work independently on projects, within a tight timeline.
- Collaborate alongside colleagues and external consultants.
- Be flexible and willing to adapt design ideas to meet technical criteria.
- Support the organization by converting concepts and ideas into final projects ready by deadline.
- Understand our clients and their demand standard for quality and innovative work.
Secondary Responsibilities
- May create custom acrylic work and heat bending and work with Vinyl installation.
- Assist in the packaging, shipping and receiving of projects and materials.
- Assist in operating and maintaining Digital router tables when needed.
- Assist in the operation of a 60" wide laminator.
- Assist in other Finishing & Building team responsibilities needed.
Requirements, Experience, And Skills
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience; carpentry, custom builds of exhibits, displays or cabinets or
- related roles or fields.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience; carpentry, building custom exhibits, displays or cabinets or related roles or fields.
- Able and willing to put in additional time over the 40 and work nights, weekends when needed to finish projects before deadline.
- Able to travel long distances by car, truck and/or airplane to install our creations, including overnight travel.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for insurance purposes.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Strong math skills and the ability to read and understand ruler and measurement.
- Proficiency with power tools and hand tools is essential for effective execution of tasks.
- Ability to work in very close tolerances when working with specs and have a keen sense for detail.
- Fluent with build materials.
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely and efficiently; max 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a production environment; it can be noisy and dusty at times.
- Capable of pivoting and problem-solving challenges when on-site installing our creations for our clients.
- Efficiently work independently on projects within a tight timeline.
- Accept critique and maintain a positive attitude even when under pressure.
