Job summary

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is seeking an entry‑level custody support role to assist sworn personnel in maintaining order and security within detention, jail, or court facilities. The position requires keen judgment under supervision and supports inmate management, classification, and related duties.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising inmates in sleeping quarters, during meals and bathing, at recreation, and on work assignments.
• Assist in instructing and overseeing the work of a group of inmates assigned to various operational, maintenance, or other rehabilitative activities.
• Assist in the operation of main or dormitory control booths and assist in processing inmates for court appearances.
• Maintain logs, scheduling, and records; prepare reports or memoranda as directed.
• Distribute and account for facility keys and secure inmates' personal property and monies.
