Position Summary

The University of Dubuque is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across campus facilities. This position plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the university by ensuring classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas are cleaned and maintained to high standards. Successful candidates will be self‑motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team, and committed to supporting the mission of the university.

Primary Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness of campus buildings, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas
Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors to ensure a safe and sanitary environment
Deep clean bathrooms – showers, stalls, tile, etc.
Wash walls and windows
Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal
Assist with setup and teardown for campus events, including moving furniture, equipment, and supplies
Operate floor and carpet machines
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the university’s mission
