Job Summary

The Custodian maintains a sanitary, safe, and attractive facility for students, staff, and the public, provides equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, classroom activities, and events, and minimizes property damage, loss, and liability exposure.

Minimum Qualifications
  • All positions require fingerprinting and passing a criminal background check.
  • One (1) year of job-related experience.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, present professionally, analyze, and interpret written and verbal communications in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a K-12 education or public employment environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's license and evidence of insurability.
  • Experience with safety practices, industrial cleaning, Team Cleaning, I.P.M., and Green Cleaning concepts.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or other languages.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office Suite and data-based software.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Clean assigned facilities using industrial cleaning methods and tools.
  • Prepare facilities for daily operations.
  • Arrange furnishings and equipment for meetings and events.
  • Assist with snow removal and maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in training and meetings.
  • Respond to safety and operational concerns.
  • Secure facilities and grounds.
  • Substitute for the Head Custodian as needed.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality.
  • Work under limited supervision, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with team members.
  • Perform physical tasks up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

Requires physical activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and more. The job involves exposure to temperature variations and potential safety risks.
