• Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities.
• Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents, inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed.
• Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice.
• Clean restrooms, showers, and locker rooms and common areas.
• Empty wastebaskets and remove trash from buildings.
• Replenish supplies as necessary.
• Vacuum and spot-clean carpet.
• Sweep and/or dust mop floors.
• Wet mop or machine scrub floors.
• Clean hallways, stairwells, and drinking fountains.
• Maintain exterior spaces; entryways, walk off mats, ash urns and recycling centers.
• Wash walls, ceilings, inside windows, and entrance glass.
• Replace bulbs, clean light fixtures, diffusers.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Department of University Housing at the University ofWisconsin-Whitewater seeks Custodians.

Cleans facilities, removes waste and recycling, and monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours. Ensures cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in assigned areas. This position is responsible for custodial duties in assigned areasof UW-Whitewater buildings and maintaining these areas in a safeand sanitary condition. This position reports to the CustodialServices Supervisor and may work under the guidance of a CustodianLead. All duties are to be performed in accordance withorganizational beliefs and values. Regular attendance is anessential function of the job. This position is designated at Level1 for risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens. All establishedsafety rules and regulations must be followed and personalprotective equipment must be worn when performing job dutiesrequiring their use. Will be an active participant in followingapplicable safety rules and regulations including necessarytraining and drills. This position participates in the UniversityHousing - Facilities Custodial overtime functions.
