Job summary

The University of Louisiana Monroe is seeking a Custodian Supervisor A to join our facilities team and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across campus buildings. This role requires at least two years of custodial experience and adherence to State Civil Service specifications.

You will supervise routine cleaning, coordinate tasks, and report maintenance needs to the Physical Plant. Appointment type is Probational.

Qualifications

• Two years of custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or related work experience.
• State Civil Service specifications apply to this role.
• Ability to perform cleaning duties and operate cleaning equipment as listed in the duties.

Responsibilities

• Clean bathrooms, offices, hallways, and other areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
• Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
• Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
• Mixes cleaning solutions to proper concentrations and follows waste disposal procedures.
• Maintains custodial equipment and reports needed repairs to higher level staff.
• Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.
• Performs additional related duties to provide efficient services.

Job Duties:

• Clean bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing,
• Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
• Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
• Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various task. Follows procedures for disposing of waste.
• Maintains custodial equipment: reports need for minor building and /or equipment repairs to higher level custodian.
• Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.
• Performs any additional related duties necessary to provide efficient services.
