Job summary

Town of Barnstable is seeking a semi-skilled maintenance worker responsible for the care and upkeep of public buildings and related equipment. The role includes performing related tasks as required to keep facilities in good condition.

Job description

Department: Department of Public Works-Structures and Grounds Division

Semi skilled manual work involving responsibility for the care and maintenance of a public building or buildings and related equipment; all other related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year of experience in clerical or maintenance work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Class D drivers license required.

Ability to obtain pesticide license within probationary period may be required.

CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.

Ability to pass CORI and SORI check

Additional Qualifications:

General knowledge of cleaning materials and methods. Working knowledge of chemical handling and storage including MSDS Forms.

Ability to perform moderately physical labor. Ability to read and interpret instructions and directions.

Basic skills in performing preventative maintenance on equipment and basic machinery.
